I remain convinced that the reason the knitting bug has bitten so hard this time round (this is not my first foray into the world of knitting, but by far my deepest) is that I have become a part of a community that knits together.

When my schedule allows I knit with friends on Tuesday Nights at my LYS (wow. That sign says 9… we’ve been over-staying). And there’s another group of knitters that meet Thursday nights at a local coffee shop. And Wednesdays I’ve created for myself a group of crafters who gather at the Church and Sit There Involved in Tasks of Creation, Hospitality and Stewardship (for the acronym watchers, that’s STITCHAS). The same mind that named “Purlez-vous” pointed out that “Sitting Together” would spell the same acronym. She’s right. I’m going to start calling it that.

So, yes. My knitting leaves the house with me on a fairly regular basis. And I’ve been tossing it willy-nilly into this purse or that, but I now have a little dedicated 1-project tote for take-alongs.

Clearly, this is not going to work if I need to start toting an afghan around with me, but all my Christmas projects should fit nicely.
